The L R Institute of Management was established in 2006 is approved by the AICTE, New Delhi and is affiliated to HPU Shimla. The Institute is equipped with all infrastructural facilities required for such a professional course. It has an impressive Library which is a repository of over 1116 books. Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry has earned a unique distinction not only in the country but also in whole of Asia to impart teaching, research and extension education in horticulture, forestry and allied disciplines with Himalayan perspective.

In order to impart training to students in the state-of-the-art Information Technology, the Executive Council of the University in its meetings held on 4th March, 2000 and 29th June, 2000 decided to start a five year integrated Master Course in Information Technology namely MIT/BIT. The purpose has been to produce professional leaders in the field of Information Technology, as also to enhance technological strength of the region and the country.
