WVU Parkersburg is a public institution of higher education, affiliated with West Virginia University, separately accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, and operated by the state of West Virginia. WVU Parkersburg is a higher education center offering community college programs and bachelor's degrees.

Daniel McNeil, professor in the Department of Psychology at WVU, is the recipient of a Fulbright Senior Scholar Award. He plans to research the psychological and social impact of cross-cultural exchanges between the Maori, the indigenous people of New Zealand, and those who visit them. He will compare how communication and other interactions impact both groups.

West Virginia State University is a historically black university, which has evolved into a fully accessible, racially diverse, and multi-generational institution offering baccalaureate and graduate degrees. The suburban University is located in Institute, WV, eight miles from downtown Charleston.

WVSCTC offers twenty-two associate degree programs, 11 Certificate Programs, 12 Collaborative Degree Programs, and a variety of skill set certificates. We also offer customized training, credit and non-credit training for business and industry through our Workforce and Economic Development Division.
