Since its inception in 1980 the Owls women's team has earned numerous individual and team awards, the most memorable being national qualifying team championships and the All-American status of Katherine Chabot (1996). The Owls harriers have proven themselves over the years as being a threat for NAIA conference and regional honors, as well as being competitive in meets attended primarily by NCAA competitors.
