The CT institute of management & information technology provides a creative learning environment where the development of managerial skills and the discovery of principles, concept and values are the primary methodologies. We understand that knowledge can be classified into three broad categories: facts, skills and understanding. Facts are best taught through lectures and other didactic processes. Skills are habits that are developed through experience and practice. Understanding comes through discovery, by asking why and then working out the answers.
The learning at CTIMIT comes through lectures, textbooks and videos. And as is the case in nearly all management schools, exercise designed to build techniques and skills make up a significant portion of the curriculum. But what really makes CTIMIT different is the emphasis we put on discovery. Our most serious concern is that students will simply use the tools they are taught without asking “why”. Questioning well-known techniques, questioning the opinions of professors, questioning textbooks and articles written by the “Experts”. These are the ways a student discovers the practical wisdom necessary to become both a manager and a leader. Getting students to ask why is our specialty.
