AIEEE 2009 Results Announced by CBSE
Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE ) announced the results of All India Engineering Entrance Examination today. Results are available on CBSE Website www.cbse.nic.in. According to the release, approximately 962000 students had appeared in the test conducted at 1460 centres across the country and in international centers setup at Dubai and Riyadh.
AIEEE is a minimum requirement for students seeking admissions into National Institute of Technology ( NIT ) and the premier Indian Institute of Information Technology ( IIIT ). Qualification in this exam is an eligibility criteria for some government funded and deemed universities also. Most state funded engineering institutes have 15 percent reservation for the students of AIEEE.
The number of seats available in engineering curriculum are expected to be around 20000 in 2009 compared to 18000 in 2008. The board announced that counselling for admissions will be held in the third week of June 2009.
